THE 85-year-old Casino Railway Station has been receiving a makeover as part of a Statewide NSW
Trainlink program.

Under the Station Refresh Program, the Canterbury Street station will be getting a deep clean on all
surface areas, a fresh coat of paint, gardening work and a major refresh to toilet facilities.

This will include new tiles, waterproof walls and floors, paint and new exhaust fans.

Gutters will also be cleaned and repaired, new LED lighting will be installed in the station’s stairs,
platforms, canopies, carpark and awnings, new seats and bins will be installed and graffiti will be
scrubbed from the station’s buildings.

Work completed at the station also includes restorations to the heritage-listed building.

NSW Trainlink chief executive Rob Mason said: “The Station Refresh Program is about improving
our customers’ experiences by making stations more comfortable and safer to use”.

Work on the Station Refresh Program began in mid-January and will be finished by July this year.

The current station was built to replace the previous Casino station, which was originally opened in
1903.
